Position Purpose

Involved in recruitment and selection, job evaluation, performance management, labour relations, training and development, benefits, health and safety and other HR functions. Analyzes problems and issues to identify and recommend appropriate actions and support required to implement solutions. Works with the HR Generalist in supporting the management team to meet their human resources needs by analysing short-, medium- and long-term requirements, implementing best practices and recommendations, developing plans to address issues and monitoring results.

Essential Qualifications

Bachelorís degree in HR or a related field normally acquired through postsecondary education or equivalent experience
Minimum of 3-to-5 yearsí progressive experience in HR, preferably in a generalist role
Knowledge of human resources (recruitment and staffing, job evaluation, employee relations, compensation, performance evaluation and career development)
Knowledge and experience in applying practices and laws that govern human resources
Knowledge of human resources challenges, trends and practices
Knowledge and experience in applying and interpreting collective agreements
Experience in using computer systems and software such as Windows, word processors, spreadsheets, databases, email and the Internet
Experience in analysing and solving problems
Ability to work with minimal supervision, in a team environment, under pressure to meet firm deadlines
Strong organizational skills
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to work with discretion and tact
Bilingualism - French and English (spoken and written)

Note

Contract of approximately 24 months, with possibility of renewal. Eligibility to benefits will be determined upon hiring.

This position is excluded from all union accreditation units. All applications will be considered equally.

Schedule with an average of 37.5 hrs/week. The successful candidate will need to work at multiple locations.
