Position Purpose

The Research Facilitatorís primary role is to help deliver efficient and effective research services to staff and researchers, to raise the Facultyís research standing and increase funding.

Working closely with faculty and the Office of the Vice-President, Research:
Prepares individual and group grant applications to the major funding agencies, international programs and foundations
Identifies research opportunities and informs researchers of them
Identifies opportunities for and obtains contracts from industry, government departments, etc. in collaboration with the Technology Transfer and Business Enterprise Office
Ensures that appropriate administrative procedures are applied

Essential Qualifications

University studies, preferably at the doctorate level, in engineering, applied science or computer science, or equivalent experience
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Experience in project management
Excellent writing skills
Knowledge of research strategies and methodologies including computer-based analysis
Experience in preparing grant requests
Experience with computer systems and software such as Windows, word processors, spreadsheets, desktop publishing software, statistical software, email and the Internet
Ability to apply marketing knowledge to the research sector
Experience working with the main funding agencies
Experience relevant to developing international agreements (an asset)

Contract of approximately 12 months, with possibility of renewal. Eligibility to benefits and union affiliation will be determined upon hiring.
