Position Purpose

Provides support for the mission critical systems (Catalogue and Web servers) in the Library Network to deliver traditional and electronic information resources to the university community in support of learning, teaching and research.
Assists in the development and documentation of custom programs and scripts.
Provides computer operations support and technical assistance for PCs throughout the Library.
Liaises with Library staff, Communications and Computing Services, (University of Ottawa) and with external system vendors

Essential Qualifications

Knowledge of computerized systems usually acquired through post-secondary education or equivalent experience
Knowledge and experience related to development in JSP, PHP, PERL, Java, and Javascript
Knowledge of general functioning of a library’s operations
Experience providing technical support and working in a client-oriented environment

Note

Temporary assignment or contract until the end of May 2014, with possibility of renewal. Eligibility to benefits and union affiliation will be determined upon hiring.

Schedule with an average of 35hrs/week.
