Position Purpose

Assists the legal counsel in overseeing projects funded by different sections of the Language Rights Support Program: exploratory studies, non-traditional dispute resolution mechanisms, litigation and impact studies. Assists the legal counsel with training of students under the latterís supervision.

Essential Qualifications

College paralegal diploma or equivalent training

Knowledge of SAGE accounting software

Knowledge of administrative law and procedural fairness

Experience in a legal office (an asset)

Flexibility, organizational and planning skills, reliability and resourcefulness

Drive and willingness to take on a challenge

Initiative and independence

Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously and set priorities

Attention to detail and to ethical obligations in the field of law

Ability to handle confidential legal documents

Licence as paralegal recognized by the Law Society of Upper Canada

Note

Contract until March 31, 2017, with possibility of renewal. Eligibility to benefits will be determined upon hiring.

Schedule with an average of 35hrs/week.
