Position Purpose

Provides primarily English writing and editorial services in support of promotional and fundraising efforts or activities undertaken by senior administrators, including, but not limited to, the Dean and vice deans of the Faculty of Medicine.

Essential Qualifications

Proven knowledge of English or French writing and revising techniques normally acquired through a postsecondary education program in English (or French), journalism, communications, or a related discipline
Three-to-five years’ experience in proposal writing and project management
Proficiency in communicating clearly, persuasively and tactfully, and in presenting information in a logical and organized manner
Knowledge of fundraising principles and practices, and of proposal writing in a non-profit environment
Project management experience in the field of written communications (editing, production and distribution)
Ability to work under pressure and to organize and prioritize work to meet firm deadlines
Ability to quickly read, understand, analyze, interpret and synthesize information
Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
Experience in using computer systems and software such as Windows, word processing, databases, email and Internet
Bilingualism – French and English (oral and written)

Note

Contract of approximately 12 months, with possibility of renewal. Eligibility to benefits and union affiliation will be determined upon hiring.
