Position Purpose

Plays a key role in the School of Nursing practical training stream. Manages and supervises day to day operations of nursing laboratories. Sets policies and ensures that specialized learning material is available for students. Is present for all laboratory sessions to ensure that experiments run optimally. Assists the coordinator in managing simulation centre support staff files and replaces her when she is absent.

Essential Qualifications

Knowledge of health sciences normally acquired through postsecondary studies in nursing
Knowledge or experience relating to work organization in the health care area
Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
Knowledge and experience relating to staff supervision
Knowledge of procurement and inventory practices (an asset)
Experience planning and supervising laboratory activities using computer systems
Experience in client service as a resource person
Experience using computer systems and software such as word processors, databases, PowerPoint, spreadsheets and the Internet

Note

Temporary assignment or contract of three months, with possibility of renewal. Eligibility to benefits and union affiliation will be determined upon hiring
