Position Purpose

Provides the Faculty of Arts with leading-edge technological applications, products and systems to help fulfill the Faculty’s mandate. Manages the activities of the Computing and Technical Support Team. Leads a team of professional and technical staff. Compiles, analyzes and publishes studies and produces reports in support of ongoing Faculty operations and new initiatives. Develops, maintains, documents and manages custom applications used in the administrative and academic services of the Faculty. Provides technological and strategic advice on the use of information management technologies to the CAO and dean. Ensures optimal use of existing facilities, systems and applications and leverages collective resources to advance the strategic objectives of the Faculty. Is a key player in ensuring operational and systems needs are met as well as in maintaining and developing the Faculty’s websites, infrastructure and interfaces between the Faculty’s different systems.

Essential Qualifications

In-depth knowledge of computing software and hardware including multimedia applications normally acquired through postsecondary education or a minimum five (5) years of directly relevant experience
In-depth knowledge in project management
Extensive knowledge of high level programming and relational databases
Minimum five (5) years of experience leading a diverse team of professionals in a complex environment
Minimum five (5) years of experience in business process development, governance, management, budgeting and administrative operations
Experience in providing technological and technical guidance and support to a geographically distributed user-group
Practical experience in Windows/Unix and other server based technologies
Experience in working in a client-oriented environment and superior interpersonal relations skills

Bilingualism – French and English (oral and written)
