Position Purpose

The purpose of this position is to provide technical training and support to the users of the Universityís Learning Management System (LMS) and familiarize them with the various functionalities of the system. In the process, the incumbentís role is to sensitize professors and teaching assistants on the best pedagogical use of the many LMS features at their disposal and how these can facilitate and enhance their communications with their students.

Essential Qualifications

Knowledge of information technologies normally acquired through post-secondary training or equivalent experience;
Knowledge of Web technologies;
Knowledge of Learning Management System such as: Blackboard, Desire to Learn or Moodle; proven experience as a System Administrator and end user would be an asset;
Knowledge of operating systems such as MS Windows, MAC and Linux;
Advanced knowledge of office automation systems such as Word, Excel, Access, Visio, e-mail and internet software;
Experience in providing adult staff development training in a client-oriented environment;
Experience in writing technical documentation and training material with demonstrated attention to detail);
Experience in providing technical support;

Contract of approximately 12 months, with possibility of renewal. Eligibility to benefits and union affiliation will be determined upon hiring.
