Department Overview:
Global Enterprise Services (GES) is one of the foundational divisions of TMX organization that
empowers internal TMX business lines for their technology needs, operations and digital innovation.
GES as a client centric organization focuses on building technology capabilities, enabling our clients
with the best technology solutions and providing effective technology financial and resource
management processes. The cost effective operation is a key attribute of the GES execution. GES is responsible for delivery of all technology initiatives and services across TMX.
The Support Engineer is responsible for the level 2 support of all applications and infrastructure in
production. The roles is critical to TMX operation and support and has overall responsibility for resolving application issues for mission critical TMX systems.
The individual in this role must be able to work collaboratively with Market operations, GES technology operation and various GES teams across the organization. The individual must be proactive in
preventing production issues and responding promptly in resolving production problems. He/she will be responsible for analyzing the issues in depth by utilizing appropriate tools or log files and providing hands-on troubleshooting of the application or infrastructure issues first.
Key Accountabilities:
Provide level 2 production support for all applications and infrastructures.
Repsonsible for supporting mission critical applications including Senior, Venture and Alpha
markets trading engines, Market data systems, Trading Services applications.
Be available 7/24 with prompt response to production issues.
Troubleshoot and provide support for all environments as required.
Design and develop automation framework for event monitoring and alerting.
Develop frameworks for application operation, startup, shutdown, recycle, etc.
Develop company wide deployment strategy and procedures.
Design and develop support model for cloud applications
Provide application support requirements for new projects.
Support large array of applications on and off premises.
Follow application support processes in compliance with IT and information security standards
Must Have Skills:
10+ years experience in supporting mission critical applications preferably in the capital markets.
10+ years experience in developing and supporting in large scale IT mission critical operations.
5+ years experience with Bash, Python, Javascript, C++, Java.
5+ years experience with web framework such as JBoss, Mojolicious, Django.
5+ years experience working with RDBMS or Big Data.
5+ years experience analyzing network traffic with NETSCOUT or Wireshark
Expert knowledge with STAMP and FIX protocols.
Expert knowledge with Linux and Windows OS.
Significant knowledge with equity trading and market data feeds
Proven excellence in written and verbal communication skills.
Proven excellence in collaborating with operations and internal clients in a professional manner.
Degree in Computing Science or Software Engineering, and/or equivalent work experience.
Nice to Have(s):
Familiarity with clearing applicatin
Experience with cloud development and setup
Knowledge of Nodes.js, Angular.js
Knowledge of Ansible, Dockers, Jira, Confluence and ServiceNow
